The Students Council

The Student Council of the Haifa University Law Faculty is the representative body of the Haifa University Law Faculty students. The Student Council’s goal is to represent and promote the unique academic, social and cultural interests of the students. Representatives in the Student Council are volunteers. The Student Council is a home for students and representatives from all academic years and classes.

The Student Council’s activity is not merely for the sake of the Faculty Students, but also to the benefit of the entire community of Haifa and Israel. Within the framework of our activity, two major projects stand out in their assistance and contribution to the general community, which the Student Council maintains throughout the years:

Yearly Fundraising Event – In the past four year the Student Council hosted fundraising events. In the 2008/2009 Academic Year the Student Council hosted such an event for the benefit of ALUT – The Israeli Society for Autistic Children. The Council in the past year raised all services required for the event as a donation, and in addition, also raised as donations the prized for a raffle (Vacation in Israeli sites, gym subscription, legislation sets etc.) which made it possible to raise further donations. In said event, the Council managed to raise a total sum of ILS 26,450.

A Legal-Social Volunteering Project – The Council aimed to allow student to incorporate their volunteering activities and their ongoing acquired legal profession, as manifested in practicum. This coming year, the project is to be in co-operation with the Ometz Foundation – Citizens For Proper Administration and Social and Legal Justice, which acts extensively against corruption in the government and state offices. In this project, students will be divided to legal teams and each team will be supervised by an Ometz lawyer and deal in ongoing cases and petitions of the foundation.
