LL.B for Accountants

General:
Haifa University School of Law announces a new and unique LL.B. program, designed for accountants.
The program aims to provide accountants with the proper knowledge and instruments, which will enable them to handle legal issues, which they encounter in the course of their work.
The program offers an extensive curriculum in the areas of commercial law, fiscal law, criminal law, civil law (contracts, torts, labor law, etc.), public-administrative law, law and technology and more.

Admission:
Automatic Admission to the Program:
An applicant accountant who is eligible according to his or her former degree or High School Diploma and Psychometric Exam to be admitted to the law School;
The applicant accountant graduated and holds a B.A. degree (with a minimal grade of 70) from a University, in one of the subjects, which entitles him or her the right to take the exam of the Institute of CPAC.
Other Admission:
An accountant, who does not meet one of the above criteria, will be accepted to the program only upon the decision of the Program's Admission Committee.

Duration of the Program & Scope:
The program lasts 2.5 years for students who hold a B.A. degree from a University or from another institution, authorized by the admission committee. During this time, the students will complete 119 credits.
During the first two years, the students will study 3 semesters each year, and during their third year they will attend the
Fall semester (7 semesters total).
Students, who do not hold a first degree, or those who were so instructed by the admission committee, will have to complete additional 22 credits for the degree. These credits can be completed during the program or after. A substantial portion of these 22 credits can be studied at other schools in the University (including the Economic and the Accounting departments).

Tuition:
Registration for the program will be made through the Institute of CPAC.
Application forms and information concerning tuition can be downloaded from the Institute's website, at: www.icpas.org.il. Registration ends on September 18th, 2006.
After the Institute of CPAC receives all the applications, its representatives will make sure that all the Academic requirement are fulfilled.
In some cases, the applicant's suitability to the Program will be decided by a special academic committee
After examining the applicant's credentials and authorizing them, each applicant should fill an application form (which will be sent by the Institute), pay registration fee (NIS 346) and send the material to the Institute of CPAC.

Parking and Access:
Due to lack of parking space at the University, and the special needs of the students, who will participate in the program, the University agreed to give the students parking certificates for the upcoming academic year.
The Law School will give the security department the list of students interested in the parking certificates.
Each interested student will pay NIS 40 (the voucher can be found in the University's post office).
Each student will bring the paid voucher, an I.D., a valid driver's license and car license to the security Department, where the student will receive an entrance certificate.
