LL.M. in Law & Technology

Haifa University Faculty  of Law offers an interdisciplinary advanced degree in Law & Technology. 

Program coordinator: Prof. Niva Elkin-Koren  

This unique program provides an academic and professional training in the legal aspects of new technologies. The program is run in partnership with the Haifa Center for Law & Technology, which is an internationally renowned research center (one of its kind in Israel) focusing on the interconnection between law and technology. 

The program offers a wide selection of courses and seminars on cutting edge legal challenges of the digital era, The unique curriculum includes courses in intellectual property, information law, cyber security, competition law and new technologies, online dispute resolution, online privacy and big data. Research opportunities include advanced courses in legal theories and legal research, such as the Colloquium in Law, Society and Technology, a PhD Colloquium, and a Thesis Workshop. 

The program is designed for lawyers, who practice commercial law and to those who represent investors and entrepreneurs involved in the hi-tech industry. An advanced program is available for students with strong background in this field.

Admission
Eligible candidates should hold a first degree in Law, with an average of 80 and up. Scholarships are available. Only eligible candidates will be considered by the Admission Committee. 

Course of Study
The students will complete 32 academic credits, in the non-thesis program, over the course of one year. Eligible students could who write a research thesis, are required to complete 28 credits. 

Dates and Times
Classes are held on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings at the Haifa University Campus. Intensive courses will be offered during the summer.
