PRIVACY WORKSHOP: From Theory to Practice

"Information Privacy" has been generating great interest to both academics and practitioners. In Israel, books and theoretical articles address these matters. On the policy level, the Israeli Law, Information and Technology Authority (ILITA), which was established in the Ministry of Justice, maintains continuous relationship with European regulating bodies. The Israeli Courts have also begun noting these matters.

Yet is seems that the elaborate theoretical notions addressed by scholars are not easily absorbed by policymakers and practitioners. The roundtable discussion will attempt to bridge this gap, as well as to enrich the world of academic knowledge. The roundtable discussion will bring together top legal scholars, local and international academics from additional fields as well as practitioners and policy makers.

The workshop's format will feature five scholarly articles, which will be briefly addressed by the authors (5 minutes) commented upon by two designated speakers (10 minutes each) and thereafter discussed by participants (10 minutes). The papers will be available to all participants in advance.
